Don Miguel Ruiz History: Don Miguel Ruiz was born into a modest family with ancient traditions in rural Mexico, the youngest of 13 children. He considers himself very happy, because that is where he learned very early on that anything is possible if we really want to. Don Miguel has spent the past three decades leading students to personal freedom through his profound insights into the nature of human reality. Her latest book, The TOLTEC ART OF LIFE AND DEATH: A Story of Self Discovery (HarperElixir/HarperCollins), written with Barbara Emrys, was released on October 27, 2015. Miguel`s wisdom to the world has earned him worldwide respect. He has dedicated his life to sharing his message through practical concepts to foster transformation and ultimately change life for the better. Don Miguel received numerous recognitions, including a “challenge piece” from the U.S. Air Force engraved with “The Four Accords.” He holds an honorary doctorate in cultural and social pedagogy from the American Cultural Institute of Mexico and is known as a “national treasure” in his home country. Imagine that you have the ability to see the world with other eyes every time you choose. Every time you open your eyes, you see the world around you in a different way. Use your imagination to see a new life, a new dream, a new life in which you don`t have to justify your existence and where you are free to be who you really are. Imagine living your life without being afraid to express your dreams.
You know what you want and what you don`t want. You are not afraid to ask what you need, to say yes or no to anything or anyone. Imagine that you live your life without fear of being judged by others. As if that wasn`t enough, Don Miguel taught Ruiz sr. his sons Miguel Jr. and Jose his knowledge, with his mother Madre Sarita. After ten years of training with his father and grandmother, Don Miguel Jr. devoted his life to the application of the lessons he had learned and enjoyed his personal freedom, while scratching peace with all creation. As a Nagual, he now helps others discover optimal physical and mental health so that they can acquire their own personal freedom. The last way is to prepare for death: live every day as if it were our last. That`s how you start to live. It`s supposed to be like a child, but this time with wisdom instead of innocence.
Before focusing on writing and exchanging knowledge, Don Miguel Sr. practiced neurosurgery with his brothers. After an almost fatal car accident, he changed direction and devoted himself to the study of the wisdom of Toltec, whose parents and grandparents hoped he would study. He became a shaman and spent the next 15 years exploring ways to heal and change the human spirit. The result of his research was the best-selling book “The Four Accords,” which contains practical steps towards long-term personal transformation. The Four Agreements was first published in 1997 and has sold more than six million times in the United States and seven million worldwide. It has been translated into 46 languages, has been published in the New York Times for nearly 10 years and was the 36th best-selling book of the decade. Don Miguel is also the author of The Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, Prayers and the New York Times bestseller The Fifth Agreement, a collaboration with his son Don José Ruiz.
